According to the Hollywood Reporter, Greg Rucka’s dystopian epic has been picked up by Legendary TV. The pilot will be written by Rucka himself, and I just couldn’t be happier to hear this news.

It’s been quite a long time since a comic book has come along that I can’t stop raving about; a comic that every other book I’m currently reading gets compared to; a book that leaves me devastated that I have to wait for next month’s issue. Currently, that comic book is Lazarus by Greg Rucka, Michael Lark, and Santi Arcas. The world they’ve created is so intricate and the characters so amazingly complex and compelling that Lazarus is by far my favorite book right now. And issue #13 is by far my favorite issue of the series. There will be spoilers in this review, but here’s our preview. Continue reading Review: Lazarus #13
“CONCLAVE,” Part Three
Surrounded by decadent luxury, the Conclave of the 16 Families continues. As new alliances are formed and old ones destroyed, Forever is dispatched by her father with a uncharacteristically straightforward mission: kill her brother, Jonah.
I read a whole lot of comics, and despite both DC and Marvel putting out a lot more books per month, the vast majority of the books I read are from Image Comics. The creator-owned publisher just puts out so much great stuff. With all that great stuff coming out ever month, however, it’s real easy for the occasional amazing book to fall through the cracks and miss my ever-watchful eye. And so it was with Greg Rucka and Michael Lark’s Lazarus. As a matter of fact, if it wasn’t for the great bunch of geeks over at the Image Comics Fans Facebook group I may have never picked this book up. But I did pick up Lazarus, and after reading the volume 1 hardcover it quickly became one of my favorite books of the year. Here’s our preview.
IMAGE COMICS TO RELEASE DELUXE HARDCOVER EDITION OF LAZARUS IN NOVEMBER
Collects first two arcs of New York Times bestseller by Greg Rucka and Michael Lark
In the Image Comics series LAZARUS, the world has become a feudal state: a few wealthy families control all of the resources, while all other people amount to, if they’re lucky, loyal vassals or serfs. But most are destitute, unprotected, and desperate — what the privileged call “Waste.” This is the world of the New York Times bestselling series by Greg Rucka (Whiteout, Gotham Central, Wonder Woman, Atticus Kodiak novels) and Michael Lark (Gotham Central, Daredevil, SCENE OF THE CRIME), which is now being collected into a deluxe hardcover edition, out in November.
