Jules: Uncanny Avengers #16

The series has been a wonderful hard hitting sequel to Rick Remender’s Uncanny X-Force and I have to say I’ve been absolutely loving it. The last issue left my jaw dropped had me turning the pages furiously as the plot thickened! Deaths all around, four horseman all of them Death, totally worth it. The team in total shambles, what chaos is gonna spring forth from this issue? Plus Steve McNiven’s art rules! I’m so ready for more Ragnarok Now! This is so the first issue I wanna read Wednesday!

Crimson: Justice League Dark #27

Forever Evil has been one of the best thing to happen to the Justice League titles, Dark has gone through some hands, J.M. DeMatteis seems to be making the most of it while writing the title for the time being. John Constantine and his fun-loving Justice League Dark now face it’s final obstacle…. The Blight! Picking up where Constantine 10 left out. With Mikel Janin providing the art should be a great pick up.

Gaumer: Revolutionary War: Knights of Pendragon #1

The first two issue of Marvel’s latest British invasion have been hit or miss. I love seeing these old English characters and settings again, but not if the story continues to suffer for it. It’s make it or break time for Revolutionary War and me. After this third installment I’ll either be on board for the long haul, or I’ll leave the rest of the event on the Marvel rack of my local comic shop in favor of something better.

Taylor: Thor: God of Thunder #18

The next installment of Jason Aaron’s outstanding run with our favorite Thunder God hits the shelves this week. This issue gives us a stand alone adventure that pits the Odinson against a dragon. A pretty simple premise, but one that has a primal, archetypal appeal: a hero slaying dragons is a story as old as storytelling itself, and I look forward to Aaron putting his spin on it. Furthermore, artist Das Pastoras seems like a perfect fit for this story, giving the pages the fairy-tale vibe this type of story should have. Looking forward to it!

Kyle: East of West #9

Jonathan Hickman has been delivering a tour de force of epic proportions! This Sci-Fi Western, with a touch of Eastern Culture, has been amazing. With the three Horsemen on Death’s trail, things have been stirring in the Capital. Death on the hunt looking for his son, grave troubles ahead, and a lot of questions still left unanswered, this is gonna be a good one. I have loved every issue before this one, and I have a funny feeling this is gonna be my favorite this week.

Jesse: Saga #18

This issue should be an amazing conclusion to our favorite Romeo & Juliet-esque aliens time on Quietus. If you have been keeping up with Saga you know how things can never seem to go right for Alana and Marko and their team, and last issue everything just really hit the fan! There is a reason Brian K. Vaughan is such a respectable name in comics and he continues to prove it with Saga. This is hands down my most anticipated title for the week!

Saga 18

SAGA #18
story BRIAN K. VAUGHAN
art / cover  FIONA STAPLES

Our heroes’ stay on Quietus reaches its inevitable conclusion.

Jules: Mighty Avengers Issue #5

This title has been a serious surprise as far Avengers titles go. With Marvel saturating the market with as many Avengers books as possible is easy to miss this one but it’s def the one to pick up. Al Ewing serious makes up for Greg Lands mediocre art. The cast is solid, the banter is great! I’m really looking forward to see what’s next for the Mighty Avengers, and wanna see if I’m right about who the new Ronin is!

Mighty Avengers 5

AL EWING (W) • GREG LAND (A/C)
Variant Cover by KALMAN ANDRASOFSZKY
INHUMANITY TIE-IN!
• It’s the leadership challenge you’ve been waiting for! Luke vs The Superior Spider-Man – with She-Hulk arbitrating! As in “arbitrating” a robot’s head off!
Extreme physical discourtesy the way you crave it, True Believer!
• Meanwhile, there’s something very rotten in the fallen city of Attilan – and it’s shambling towards the Mighty Avengers!
• Plus! WHO are the Deathwalkers? Does Ronin know? Wait, hang on, he’s DEAD?
32 PGS./Rated T+ …$3.99

Gaumer: All-New X-Factor Issue #2

The first issue of this new run left me a bit disappointed, but I have a lot of faith in writer Peter David to turn things around in this second ish. The team features an interesting roster, that is only half together at this very early stage in the run, and the last issue left readers hanging right in the middle of the team’s very first mission. I’m looking for more mutants, more action, and, believe it or not, more dialogue from this issue.

All-New X-Factor 2

PETER DAVID (W) CARMINE DI GIANDOMENICO (A)
Covers by JARED FLETCHER
ISSUE #2 –
Variant Cover by J. Scott Campbell
“NOT BRAND X” Part 2

Led by mutant mistress of magnetism, Polaris, the team uses its corporate backing for the betterment of society. With her half-brother Quicksilver, notorious thief, Gambit, and more by her side, can Polaris trust that her corporate masters really have good intentions?
32 PGS. (EACH)/Rated T+ …$3.99

Taylor: Black Widow Issue #2

After the first issue set the stage for Natasha and her supporting cast, I’m anxious to see where this book will take us when it gets a chance to sprawl out into some deeper stories. I’m hoping that this will be the issue that starts us on the espionage roller coaster that the book has the potential to be. And people should always look forward to Phil Noto’s artwork.

Black Widow 2
NATHAN EDMONDSON (W) • PHIL NOTO (A/C)
Variant Cover by Frank Cho
• In fact, it’s so good, that you won’t want to wait another month for the next issue.
