After being possessed by the Phoenix Force Cyclops decided to start a Mutant Revolution to atone for what he did as the Phoenix. Cyclops, with his broken powers, gather a hodge podge team of new mutants and started a school of his own. Things have not exactly gone to plan since This entire title has lead to this point, what will Cyclops do with the Mutant Revolution? What was it all for? Will he really give up his school and students? Where does this title go from here? Did I ask enough questions? The answers are in this issue, and my last question was it worth the wait? Nathan Edmonson’s Deathlok has been the kind of Deathlok title I’ve been waiting for my entire life. Henry Hayes the latest in the Deathlok legacy, one of the few who is not from an alternate future, thinks he’s a medic for rescue relief for major disasters. But is actually a weapon for a private cell that uses him to complete priority missions. Up until now Henry was completely unaware he was Deathlok, simply thought he was saving people form tsunamis and earthquakes. However after an assault in his normal life Henry finds himself completely aware that he’s Deathlok and for the sake of his daughters life has to commit to everything he stands against. Continue reading Review: Deathlok #6
After her second issue in charge of the all woman X-title I’ve decided to break my review silence and let everyone know that this is gonna be one of those really inspiring runs that might go unnoticed because it starts at such an arbitrary place in the series. G. Willow Wilson is owning this title. She’s taking on characters as a long time X-Fan I’m very attached to and she’s writing them like a second nature, like she’s been doing it longer than anyone. Storms X-Men are splintered in the dark in a cave that seems to be a mutation itself. With the backs against the wall. This will have you on edge the entire time! Continue reading Review: X-Men #24

Now AXIS feels like the exact counter to what was AvX. Based from Remender’s Uncanny Avengers the X-Men and Avengers have teamed together to take down their new foe the Red Onslaught. The Red Skull has taken having Xavier’s Brain to a whole new level. Using Sentinels that Iron Man apparently invented during the Civil War(He no longer remembers any of that.) The stage has been set, the heroes failed. Now the villians have the floor and begin they showdown with the more than your standard evil Onslaught. Continue reading Review: AXIS #3

Time Runs Out continues in what was an absolutely stunning issue of the Avengers. Picking right up where New Avengers #25 left off, only this one is from the other side. Seeing now what has become of the once greatest line-up of the Avengers now in Ruin. A split between them since the Illuminati’s dirty laundry has been aired out for all to see. A battered old Steve Rogers continues the pursuit of his once fellow Avengers hunting them like fugitives. The air seems thick and unwelcoming around Rogers and his soldier Avengers. Deception seems to be lurking within Roger’s crew. Just what happened to the Avengers? Why is the Cabal better received by the public? Where is Tony Stark? Continue reading Review: Avengers #37
JulesTrue with a long overdue post, because it’s certainly time I join the true ranks over here at OG and put my ten cents in for a rant. Recently, Marvel has upped the price tag on certain books, while paradigm shifting lots of teams, and even killing a couple of characters here and there. I’m sure by now everyone has seen the whole Avengers Now picture from Entertainment Weekly. Of course the whole community is in an uproar about all sorts of changes coming out of the House of Ideas. Lots of theories about what the folks at Marvel have planned next for its readers. Lots of questions being asked about what are their goals, who dies next, whats the next event, who’s joining what team, and how much is this all gonna cost?

Now I know what you are thinking, who cares about Ultimate Marvel? Well for one JulesTrue does, and I’m here to let you know it’s pretty frickin awesome if you give it a chance. Once a week I’m gonna hit you with a story arc from the Ultimate Marvel Universe starting from the beginning. I’ll spotlight on whats brilliant, what’s not so brilliant, and what might be a good idea for the 616!
This time I’m diving into the second title to join the Ultimate Universe! The Success of the recently launched Ultimate Spider-Man gave the folks at Marvel a hunch they were onto something. The whole translation of classic characters into the modern age seeing how they would cope in this new digital age was brilliant. So they figured which characters would translate just as well for a whole new generation of readers. Well the answer was easy especially since the success of Fox’s X-Men movie which had created a big buzz around the characters once again. However as we all no there isn’t exactly an easy jumping on point for the Children of the Atom. So Marvel did the next best thing to rebooting the X-Men and created the Ultimate X-Men!. From the Creative powers of Mark Millar, Adam and Andy Kubert!
