Top o’ the Lot: Vehicles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

From time to time Outright Geekery brings you a slanted and biased opinion on some trivially specific topic of geekery. We call it Outright Geekery’s Top o’ the Lot.

Marvel’s Cinematic Universe is easily one of the best action movie series of all time. It has everything: Amazing characters, awesome fights, and really, REALLY, cool technology. Among this technology are ray-guns, super suits, even flying hammers, but nothing in the MCU is quite as cool as the plethora of vehicles. Cars, boats, spaceships and more, the list of amazing automobilia goes on and on, but I whittled it down to just the very best of the best. So, without further ado, it flies, you’re not supposed Marvel Studios Logoto do that with bikes, and who was driving that thing? in Outright Geekery’s Top o’ the Lot: Vehicles from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Honorable Mention: That Damn Penske Truck

By no means the most compelling vehicle in the MCU, that damn Penske truck did make a huge impression on movie-goers, as well as comic fanboys who immediately jumped to the conclusion that it must be The Punisher behind the wheel of the rental. I only know one thing for sure: It either was Frank driving or it wasn’t. Maybe we’ll find put come the next season of Daredevil…

5. Nick Fury’s SUV

While I’m sure these are standard S.H.I.E.L.D. issue, and although it may not look like much, it’s what’s on the inside that counts with this badboy. The on-board computer system alone is something special, but this ride comes with all the amenities – bullet proof everything, state-of-the-art first aid equipment, and a built-in machine gun turret. This SUV was a huge part of one of the best chase scenes in the whole MCU, and it’s a fine addition to this Lot.

4. The Red Skull’s Car

The Hydra Schmidt Coupé roadster is the perfect thing for the maniacal Fascist seeking respect from his army, the scientist wanting to imbue technology in everything he does, or the war-ready Army Colonel late for a plane, this 1942 neo-classic, 16-cylinder, supercharged monster is 3 axles of fun, power, and performance. I bet it gets terrible gas mileage, though.

3. Cap’s Motorcycle

There’s really not much to say here. Watch and marvel in the wonder that is Captain America and his motorcycle.

2. The Milano

Peter Quill’s spaceship in Guardians of the Galaxy was an instant hit, and immediately went into lists of the greatest spaceships of all time alongside the X-Wing, The Enterprise, and The Millennium Falcon. I can’t wait to see her on the screen again.

1. Lola

This 1962 Corvette is property of one Agent Phil Coulson and there’s a huge secret hiding in this car: It Flies! Yeah, I know, who wouldn’t want a flying car, yest alone one that doubles as a classic muscle car? There’s only one rule: Don’t Touch Lola!
