Review: Bloodshot: Reborn #3

Writer: Jeff Lemire
Artist: Mico Suayan
Colorist: David Baron
Letterer: Dave Lanphear
Covers: Mico Suayan, Lewis LaRosa, Brian Reber, Das Pastoras, Ryan Lee

With the knowledge of what he’s done, and what the newest nanite bearers did with the nanites, we see “Ray” at a point where he needs to make a decision. Stay where he is, or do what needs to be done.

Jeff Lemire takes us to a dark place. His writing on this issue is a straight kick to the gut. It is so hard seeing a hero I’ve loved, go through such a harsh time in his life. This is the dark side of Valiant’s universe. There is always a dark side to being a hero. And for Bloodshot, this is it.

Mico. What can I say about this man’s artwork that hasn’t already been said. Stunning. Photorealistic. Nothing short of fantastic.

Colorist: David Baron blows me away with the stark contrast of colors against a overwhelming grey/dark overtone of this issue. It draws attention to specific panels beautifully.

I really can’t say any more about the covers. They are works of art befitting being hung in a museum.

The only thing I can say at this point in the series is….I am in. I am so in, it isn’t funny. The drama, the action, the writing, the artwork. No other comic on the market is like Bloodshot: Reborn.
