The quiet desperation of a man-out-of-time doing his best to reclaim the humanity and life he once had, all while the world wants him either for what he can do for them, or do to them. Unity is finally at odds with Neville on this one. They understood he wasn’t a threat. But, through Neville’s actions, we may have made him one.
Matt has put the period at the end of a masterpiece of work on this one. As a father, you want nothing more than to be as much a part of your childs life as possible. Matt perfectly describes Abrams situation, as he both knows a team is there to stop him, and what they are actually trying to do. Abram says he wants to make the world a better place, but all he really wants is to be part of his family again.
Trevor Hairsine’s art and David Baron,s colors perfectly compliments Matt’s work with beautiful environments, barren desserts, explosive action, and something that moved me to tears (I’m have a daughter…you’ll find out). They brought out emotions through artwork that hasn’t been done to me in quite some time.
And what can I say about Jelena Kevic-Djurdjevic’s cover? One word…Stunning. That’s the word.
Valiant, at this time has sold me. I’m a lifelong fan. Their style and substance approach over action and flare is, to me, what comics should be about. They show this by doubling the size of a normal issue, pack in some extras, but don’t touch the cover price. Bravo, Valiant, bravo! This was a perfect ending to the first run of this Valiant’s first creation. I can’t wait for his return.
