Geeks’ Picks for New Comics: March 25th, 2015

outright-geekery Logo NewNew Comics Wednesday is upon us again, and some of us here at Outright Geekery are running down the top pick on our comic stacks for this week. What are you looking forward to reading this week?

Taylor: The Wicked + The Divine #9

The last issue of this series might have been the best issue of any comic I’ve read all year; certainly, that will be a hard act to follow, but if anyone can do it, Gillen and McKelvie can. This series has been a godsend, and if you aren’t reading it, you’re part of the problem.

It’s time for a private audience with Ananke, she who has protected and judged the Pantheon for thousands of years. Yes, it’s time for an interview… with an umpire. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Also: Baphomet being all goth and having a nice little mope.

David: Wayward #6

Jim Zub and Steve Cummings’ Buffy-inspired supernatural series is back! This issue begins the second story arc. We are introduced to Ohara Emi, a new character to the series. Just who is she and how’s she connected to Rori? What happened to Rori and Shiari after the explosive conclusion of previous issue? If Ayane shows up, what color will her hair be? I have so many questions, hope I can get answers Wednesday.

The second story arc begins!
After the traumatizing finale of the previous issue, everything has changed. Who is Ohara and how does she fit into the great pattern of destiny and power?

Gaumer: Skullkickers #31

The long wait it finally over, but it’s bittersweet. I’ve been waiting what seems like months (because it’s been months!) for my favorite fantasy/comedy comic Skullkickers to come back to comic store shelves, but, now that it’s here, and knowing that this is the first issue of the final arc of this series, I’m kind of sad. I’m really going to miss those two adventurers.

Adam: Batman Eternal #51

After nearly a year, Batman has finally reached the end. All of his old villains are defeated and the mastermind of Batman’s woes has revealed himself to be… Cluemaster? Well, wasn’t expecting that one. Hopefully this issue sheds some light on how the Cluemaster came up with his epic plan.

This month in BATMAN ETERNAL: The epic Bat-story over a year in the making comes to a stunning end! Gotham City is in flames! Villains are running wild in the streets! Bat-tech has been corrupted!
