Taylor: Black Widow #16

Ever since this excellent run started, Natasha has been playing cat and mouse with the nefarious Chaos. Now, at long last, she is face to face with they’re enigmatic leader, the Prophet. It’s a confrontation I’ve been looking forward to for awhile, so I’ll be glad to get to it on Wednesday.

•  CHAOS gets closer than ever before.
•  An enemy resurfaces…with a surprising agenda!

David: Red One #1

Red One is a new series dropping this week from Image Comics by Terry and Rachel Dodson. The premise for this comic sounds fun. Set in the late 1970’s, an American superhero is really… a Russian spy. With the Dodson’s at the helm, this book is guaranteed to have stellar artwork. So, comrades, join me in picking up a copy of Red One #1 this Wednesday.

What happens when America’s greatest hero…is a Russian Spy?
Soviet Agent Vera Yelnikov is sent to 1977 Los Angeles by the Kremlin to become an American Superhero and spread communist values in the land of Uncle Sam in a funky superhero romp straight out of a Tarantino film by TERRY & RACHEL DODSON (Uncanny X-Men, Wonder Woman, Spider-Man, Harley Quinn) and XAVIER DORISON (Long John Silver, The Third Testament).

Gaumer: Transformers #39

There are a lot of big events happening this year. Secret Wars, Convergence, Archie/Predator, even Mega Man is getting in on the action. Out of all of this year’s big comic book deals, though, IDW’s Transformers Crossover, Combiner Wars, is the I find the most intriguing. I’ve been a Transformers fan for a long time, and I can’t wait to see some big robots get beaten up by even bigger, and new, robots. Transformers #39 is definitely on the top of my stack this week!

(Writer) John Barber (Artist) Livio Ramondelli (Cover) Casey W. Coller
OPENING SALVO! The Autobots and Decepticons’ uneasy peace is threatened by the flames of war! STARSCREAM-ruler of CYBERTRON-makes contact with WINDBLADE’S homeworld-and the only defense against a new CYBERTRONIAN EMPIRE are COMBINERS-multiple CYBERTRONIANS forming together into huge, dangerous forms!

Adam: Green Lantern: New Guardians #40

This is the last issue of a great series. The other reason why I’m excited about this issue goes into spoiler territory so I won’t say it, but something big does happen here that will change the lantern franchise for the foreseeable future.Green Lantern New Guardians #40GREEN LANTERN NEW GUARDIANS #40

Once and for all, Kyle will come to terms with his destiny as the White Lantern, filler of the Reservoir behind the Source Wall that keeps our universe from destructing. But how can he ever accept the fact that this role will soon kill him? The fate of the White Lantern will be revealed in this extra-sized final issue!

Jules: Chrononauts #1

I can say I’m a little tired of spending money on another Mark Millar issue 1. Especially considering all of the series I’m waiting for him to finish. Like seriously. But Sean Murphy’s Art is an immediate sell for me. Know him at least I know it’s gonna be gorgeous. The premise sounds cool, I know Millar will deliver a solid issue one but it’s the follow through that I’m scared about: I look forward to how this issue is gonna look and I hope this one will get the attention it needs. Because Sean Murphy is worth it.CHRONONAUTS #1 - CoverCHRONONAUTS #1

From MARK MILLAR (Kick-Ass) and SEAN GORDON MURPHY (Punk Rock Jesus) comes a bromance for the ages! Corbin Quinn and Danny Reilly are two buddies who love to have fun. They’re also scientific geniuses. When their research leads them to a time-traveling adventure, will they use their knowledge for the good of all mankind? Or use the space-time continuum for their own ends? This is the story of man’s first, televised steps through the time-stream and everything going wrong in the process.
