Jeff Lemire and Matt Kindt tell a very Hitchcockian/Romero tale about bravery, how people react in tense situations, and reveal a bit about our characters that we, or they, did not know about themselves. The weaving of what’s inside Neville’s box, to the current situation at hand, has me biting my nails to the quick.
The art team of Paolo and Joe Rivera have knocked this issue out of the park again. Showing us just how powerful The Immortal Enemy truly is, and just exactly what Bloodshot is willing to do, and willing to go, to keep the Geomancer safe.
The cover to this issue is also very compelling. It’s showing you everything you need to know to buy this issue. However, it’s what it’s not telling you that’s more compelling. There is a fantastic use of negative space that makes this cover “intimate”.
