Taylor: Ms Marvel #11

You might imagine that it would take something pretty special to get me to be more excited about it than I am about Star Wars or the Avengers. And you’d be right. Ms Marvel truly is something very special, and I can’t wait to read it this week as it headlines what should be a great week for comics.Ms Marvel #11MS MARVEL #11

David: Ant-Man #2

I was pleasantly surprised with Ant-Man #1 last month. Enough so, that I want to see what the second issue has in store. Also, I’m really digging the Geoff Darrow variant cover. Ant-Man #2 Darrow VariantANT-MAN #2

Gaumer: The Humans #4

I haven’t had a chance to talk about this series as much as I’ve wanted to, and, thanks to a slower than usual week for me, I get to. Imagine Son of Anarchy, set in the 1970s, with apes. Imagine every retro biker movie ever made meets Planet of the Apes. Imagine all the villainy, rebel rousing, and lawbreaking of the dirtiest biker gang you’ve ever seen, and now add apes. This is just the tip of the iceberg that is The Humans. I thought this series was going to be nothing more than a joke after reading issue #1, and the comedy is still driving the plot, but The Humans deals with some important social issues with expertly crafted subtlety, and I just can’t wait to see what’s next. The Humans #4HUMANS #4

Adam: Swamp Thing #39

One of the consistantly best books in DC’s lineup is rapidly approaching its epic conclusion. The machine queen is reeking havok on everything and Arcane has his full powers back. Things just aren’t looking up for ole salad face.SWAMP THING #39SWAMP THING #39

“The Machine Queen” part 5! The Swamp is dead. The machines rule the planet. Alec Holland’s greatest foes are arrayed against him, and the few allies he has left have gone into hiding. It is the end…unless the Swamp Thing can return to the beginning, to fix his greatest mistake.

Jules: Ant-Man #2

Issue 2’s are really where a monthly title gets its definition. Ant-Man #1 was Nick Spencer striking gold for me. As a long time fan of the character of both Scott and Cassie Lang, it was awesome to see someone use both in a title. Nick Spencer and Roman Rosanas is another great pairing for Spencer coming off a glorious run from Superior Foes of Spider-Man. Like Lieber, Rosanas’ art style is honest for the kind of story Spencer likes to tell. Also putting Ant-Man in my hometown blew my mind. Nick Spencer do you know me? I’m picking this up.Ant-Man #2ANT-MAN #2
