David: Hellboy and the B.P.R.D. #1 (of 5)

As a fan of Hellboy, this is too good to pass up. The first issue of a 5-part series, Mike Mignola and Alex Maleev team up to tell the story of Hellboy’s early days with the B.P.R.D. I am looking to picking this up on new comic day!Hellboy and the BPRD #1Hellboy and the B.P.R.D. #1 (of 5)

Gaumer: Birthright #3

Remember when you were a kid and you imagined that you were an axe-wielding barbarian primed to save some magical kingdom? Well, that’s what happens to the lead character in the fantasy/adventure with a wicked twist, Birthright #3, but it happens for real, as a boy is presumably kidnapped, but returns home from what looks to be years of living in a alternate world of magic. Great action, a plot that keeps you guessing, and some terrific art, I can’t wait to bust into this Wednesday.

Birthright03_CoverSTORY: JOSHUA WILLIAMSON

After a standoff in the police station, the Rhodes family is on the run from the law, and for their lives. And just what horrors did Mikey survive while he was away?

Jules: Inhuman #9 and All- New X-factor #17

Inhuman looks great as the title has been really picking up steam since Blackbolt’s whereabouts have been revealed, and the new cast of Inhumans starts to shape Marvel’s Royal family of the Weird. Charles Soule has done an absolutely wonderful job of bobbing and weaving the Royal Family and his new Inhumans. I have been digging on the title and really looking forward to this next one!

I’m also very excited about All-New X-Factor #17, as this title has been everything I thought it would be, but I’m mega-bummed to know it’s coming to a close. Peter David is one of my all time favorites, and the cast in this title has been so well handled it really bums me to see it go. That being said, I can’t wait to see what the team does next as they stand among the few who haven’t been inverted!
