Yeah, I know, it surprised me too! While there is no official record of establishing September 25th as a National Holiday in the U.S., and although there’s really no industry backing of the day, you don’t really need a reason to celebrate the awesomeness that is comic books, but it’s nice to have an excuse.
So, get out there and read a comic, or two, or three, share a comic with someone, trade some comics with your friends, or, hell, just give some comics away. It’s a great opportunity to get people reading comics, and to celebrate everything that is comics. Here’s a great resource to help get yourself or anyone into the hobby.
The guys and gals at Outright Geekery will be celebrating by reading some comics, writing some reviews, and sharing it with the world…so, we’re celebrating today pretty much the same as every day.
What will you be doing to celebrate comics on National Comic Book Day?
